PS3 is the best

Xbox 360 is really good

Wii is a joke and a should be murdered

i wasnt really reading what you guys said earlier in this thread

but i saw Haze mentioned

I was waiting for PS3 price drop to get it... I might be saving up for one or asking for one for my birthday next year. I really only want it for the bluray player and the few good PS3-only titles.

360 is fucking great. You really can't go wrong with the multi-player of Halo 3. I haven't had that much fun since Goldeneye. XBL is fucking great too. So many really fun little games on there. However...

As more stuff comes to the WiiVC it's catching up rapidly. I chose Mega Man 9 on my Wii instead of 360, just so I could have a GOOD d-pad to use. I also picked up a few NES/SNES/N64 games, just so I don't have to hassle myself to hook up those old systems anytime soon (yes I still have them all). Whenever I get New Super Mario Bros Wii then I'll probably get back on my Wii kick. Smile

So I honestly can't vote for a best system this generation.

Each system does something differently that I like about it, choosing one over the other wouldn't make sense cause I'd be choosing it over another for a completely different reason.

I've never been much of a fanboy gamer, I've always got each console from every console generation and enjoyed them all about evenly. Each system this generation has some great exclusives worth getting each system for, at least for me. Though I think Wii takes the exclusives cake, most of the shit I own for 360 or PS3 is multiconsole with some exclusives here and there.

But hardware wise the Wii is easily the weakest, but with shit like Punch-Out and MadWorld you can't go wrong. I'll cut it there cause now I'm rambling about what makes each system fun and unique in my eyes.

i dont like the Wii because i feel its more for casual gamers

I find that PC will always be the superior gaming platform due to the complexity of the controls and ability to mod casually

PC is superior depending on the type of game. FPS and RTS are easily better on PC... as well as MMORPG and flight sim.

If I HAD to pick the best console of this era, I'd definitely go with the Wii. It's underpowered and the library isn't great, but it has had the most successful marketing strategy, best use of new ideas... especially motion controls, and it DOESN'T FUCKING BREAK CONSTANTLY. Not to mention there's already considerable buzz that an HD Wii will come out in a year or so, which will somewhat even the playing field for developers to make really pretty games on the system and bring in some more hardcore gamers.

Seriously, Nintendo learned A LOT from the failures of the Gamecube (other than lack of great third party games).

That is a fucking shame. They need to quit releasing a new fucking DS every month and focus on their ailing console. DS is selling fine without all that extra shit tacked on.

I really disliked the DSi concept anyways, cause of DSiware. I shouldn't have to rebuy the console just so I can download some exclusives, they're making a new Shantae only on DSiware and I swear I could rage all day about that. I've been waiting for that sequel since the GBA version was in the works and now they pull that shit to try and get me to buy a slightly better version of a system I already own.

I love Nintendo and all, but fuck if they aren't becoming another Microsoft with their money grab schemes.

The 360 has the most exclusive games and the best online, but it is the shittiest excuse for a piece of hardware I've ever seen.

PS3 on the other hand has some of the best hardware ever put together, but it is lacking a little in the games department.

The Wii has a shit ton of shovelware and absolutely fucking horrible online play, but then again people hack the thing like crazy and make it friggin' sweet. That and No More Heroes.

A lot of people always bring up how you have to pay for Xbox Live, but as a Wii owner I can say that I would gladly pay 4 bucks a month if it would make Nintendo actually put some fucking effort into pleasing their fans.

I understand that they are trying to make sure there are still gamers in the future, but the huge amount of casual catering is getting a bit annoying considering that the only thing that Nintendo has been putting out for their fans has been re-releases of games that I've already bought but with waggle.

Nintendo specifically said they deisgned the wii as a platform for mre casual gamers. It saved their business, they were on their way out. By doing that they were able to stay afloat.
